Weekly Running Sessions

We run 4 training sessions per week, which cater to all abilities. Feel free to come and try any of these sessions for free, just let us know.

We recommend all new runners book a coaching consultation to discuss your training plan, goals, diet and anything else that can help your running.

We also recommend all new runners do a running technique session. Contact Liam to arrange a time.

Sessions

 
 

Tuesday Session

Where
Princes Park, Middle pathway at end of McPherson St. next to playground.

When
Tuesdays 6-7pm for Recreational / Long Distance

What
The session starts with an easy group warm up run, brief stretch and a few strides. Then we move into efforts with recovery catered to your ability, the quicker runners do more. We finish with an easy run to cool down and stretch to finish in the hour.

We lock our bikes to the fence and there’s always a car to put bags in.

 
 

Thursday Session

Where
Collingwood Athletics Track

When
Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm for Junior / Middle Distance
Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm for Recreational / Long Distance

What
The session starts with an easy group warm up run, brief stretch and a few strides. Then we move into efforts with recovery catered to your ability, the quicker runners do more. We finish with an easy run to cool down and stretch to finish in the hour. Most sessions are on the track but sometimes in Yarra Bend Park for variety in the Summer time.

Bags can be left in the club rooms.

 
 
 
 

Sunday Long Run

Where
Collingwood Athletics Track

When
Sunday 8:00am until you finish

What
Sunday we leave from the track as a group and explore the Yarra river trails and park land. The group naturally splits into smaller groups depending on pace. You can turn back at any point as the long run distance will vary but we look after anyone who doesn’t know the area. Distances also vary according to time of the year, if you can run 10ks that’s a good start, for the experienced runners training for a marathon the runs will be 30ks plus.

Run Technique Session

Where
Princes Park, Collingwood Athletics Track or a place that works for you.

What
Liam takes 1-3 people out for 1 hour. The cost is $100 for 1, $50 each for 2 or more. We also do specific group sessions for training groups. The session will focus on technique to improve speed and reduce the risk of injury. You will be filmed with an iPad running with immediate feedback as you watch yourself running. Drills and discussion will leave you with plenty to work on to improve your running. This session is a must for all new runners to the group, it can make a massive difference to your speed and enjoyment of running.
